DECORATING IDEAS FROM BECKY IN OKLAHOMA

Sometimes we get the best ideas from our customers.  Becky from Oklahoma is one of our on-line friends.  She and her husband, along with a large group of friends, recently traveled to Alaska.  After they got back, they were planning an Alaska reunion party at their home.  Becky wanted to somehow re-create the trip for their friends.  She came up with a great idea and after finding us on-line, ordered the cute black bear napkin rings... and then decorated her floral centerpieces with some of our cute critters...moose, bear, otters (like they saw on their trip).  These all coordinated well with her black and white check color scheme.  And her friends loved it.
Here are a few photos of her dinner party that just might provide inspiration for your next get-together.
Women inspiring each other.  That's a good thought.  Thanks for sharing, Becky!  =)

Last G-Sale of the season. See you next year...

Thank you to those who stopped by our last garage sale of the year.  It was a bit quieter than the other two - probably because some were out of town.  And then some lil' stinker or two kept taking some of our signs down.  One of our friends, Nadine, was the first to let us know.  Thanks Nadine.  =)  Anyway, we'll be back with more G-sales and other fun things next Spring!

Two friends who stopped by are pictured below.  Dottie (left) and Chica (right).  Dottie is a teacher who also works with animal shelters.  In fact, that's how she met adorable Chica, her newest "child".  This is a great reminder there are many shelters that need help or have wonderful pets to adopt.  We invite you to visit  www.homewardpet.org located in Woodinville, WA and www.pasadosafehaven.org located in Sultan, WA  - or visit a shelter near you.  Hats off to Dottie for helping our furry friends.  =)

UNIQUE VALANCE IDEAS

We've been remodeling our home office.  Since we love Fall, we wanted a Fall theme.  A replacement valance over our huge window was definitely in order.  (The dark green floral fabric had to go.)  My woodworker husband suggested making an intarsia valance with wildlife.  He kind of flew by the seat of his pants on this one.  Above are a few photos of his first one. We are so happy with it.  These pictures are fairly good but in person, it's striking.  If you have creative or unique valance ideas, we hope you'll let us know.
We'd love to hear from you.  =)

GARAGE SALE 2 - July 28-30

It's busy around here...getting ready for our LOCAL G-sale this coming week.  Seems that's all we've been doing this summer is getting ready for garage sales!  =)  For our working friends, we're trying something new with a TWILIGHT Garage Sale this Wed., 5-7:30pm.  Thursday and Friday hours are 8:30am-4pm.  DRIVING DIRECTIONS ARE BELOW ON OUR BLOG DATED JUNE 22.

We're finding all kinds of things!  Check out these cute Victorian wood dolls.  Back in my craft show days, I painted these ladies and gussied them up.  The fun part was giving them names like "Gussie Dupp".  If you or someone you know enjoys Victorian things and painting, we're selling the plain wood dolls for a song!  We're also selling a couple of already-painted ladies.  Namely, Olive Green and Fanny Fuller (pictured).  Who said you can't do Victorian and Lodge?  =)  Time to get back to pricing for the sale...hope to see you soon.

One last note...I almost forgot.  We're going to be showing our NEW Charlie Bears at the Garage Sale.
We've been waiting for this order since last September!  As you can see, they have wonderful  personalities.  Each one is handcrafted.  Below is a sampling of what we now have in stock.  These will be offered at their regular price.

Have you seen Piebald Deer?

We love wildlife.  How about you?  We'd be interested in hearing if any of you have heard of or seen Piebald deer.  A couple years ago, I looked out our office window and was surprised to see a mostly-white deer.  Thinking it was an albino, which I'd never seen before, I put the sighting in the back of my mind.  Then a few days later, I saw it again. This time it was closer.  It didn't have the usual albino characteristics.  I tried to find info on the internet but wasn't successful.  A few months later, in the local paper, there were photos and info on Piebald deer as a number of people in our area had seen them.  This past year, another Piebald  was born, just a few houses down from us.  Several months ago, my husband was able to take close-up pictures...and our neighborhood Piebalds were most cooperative. : )  Check out our website's newsletter for more information.  Hope you enjoy these snapshots.

Thank you all.  Our LP garage sale was a big success with really nice weather to top it off.  We couldn't have done it without all the great people who stopped by.  Thank you so much for your time, your business and most important, your friendship.  Partial proceeds have been given to Take the Next Step which helps neighbors in our community, the Sky Valley area.  We're planning one or two more local sales
this summer...one in July, one in August.

Wanted to take more pictures but when it's busy, I forget.  =/
Here are a few photos.

Despite a threat of rain, we're going ahead with our local Garage Sale this week.  Hours are 8:30-4pm Thursday & Friday.  No early birds, please.  A few sprinkles won't hinder us.  Lots of rain will.  If in doubt, call or e-mail us to verify.   =)  Lite refreshments served while they last.
